Over the years, Suhani Pittie has received both national and international recognition for the work she does. She was named The “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2017” by Retail Guild, India, and earned ‘The Young Women Achievers Award 2012’ for her contribution to fashion by YFLO (Young FICCI Ladies Organization). She was awarded the very prestigious ‘Artisan Award 2015’ by GJEPC and the ‘Singem Award for Excellence’ for gemology. The New Indian Express awarded her the ‘Devi Award’ for Innovation & Dynamism. Her contemporary take on traditional handcraft techniques earned her the the GJTCI Award of Excellence, awarded by the Governor of Karnataka himself. She was featured in the “35 most powerful women in India, under 35” list and was highlighted in the Fortune magazine for being one of the five people to watch out for, in India.
Passionate Foundation recognized her as one of the youngest youth icons in Joint Andhra Pradesh. Suhani’s talent earned her recognition in Vogue Italia as one of the 5 designers to watch out for from India and Grazia featured her in the ‘Cool list of 30’. Suhani’s work was also recognized in Hi! Blitz Magazine which enlisted her as 1 of India’s Top 50 Game Changers. Suhani was also awarded the Audi Ritz Icon 2012 award by the German vehicle brand Audi and the renowned Ritz Magazine.
In the spotlight
Suhani is no stranger to fashion weeks. Infact, she’s the first Indian jewellery designer who was invited to Miami Fashion Week when she was just 25. The Museum of Arts and Design, New York subsequently commissioned her work.
Pained by the worldwide displacement crisis, the designer channelled her emotions into creating the ‘Nowhere People’ jewellery collection which was featured in Lakme Fashion Week and earned worldwide recognition for Suhani’s thought provoking and gut wrenching interpretation of this crisis.
Bollywood’s most beloved stars like Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma are often seen sporting her jewellery. As the L’Oreal ambassador, Sonam Kapoor has been wearing Suhani’s jewellery for 7 consecutive years at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
In 2009, her work was chosen by the British Council to represent India. It was handpicked to be showcased at The Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award ‘09 hosted by the British Council. The audience included Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji at the Bal Samand Lake Palace, Jodhpur.
