Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Faculty member for Animation/VFX to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both animation and VFX, with hands-on industry experience. You will be responsible for teaching, mentoring students, and developing course content that prepares students for careers in the dynamic field of animation and visual effects.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching: Conduct lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on Animation and VFX topics such as 2D/3D animation, character design, compositing, lighting, rigging, texturing, motion graphics, and visual effects software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Autodesk Maya, Blender).
Curriculum Development: Assist in designing and updating curriculum and course material in line with industry trends and practices.
Mentorship: Guide students in developing their portfolios, creative projects, and animation reels.
Project Supervision: Supervise and evaluate student projects, ensuring they meet academic and industry standards.
Assessment: Conduct student assessments, provide constructive feedback, and help students improve their creative and technical skills.
Industry Insight: Stay updated on the latest trends and tools in the animation and VFX industry to keep the curriculum relevant and engaging.
Collaboration: Work closely with other faculty members to promote cross-disciplinary projects and activities.
Workshops and Seminars: Organize industry-relevant workshops and guest lectures to enhance learning experiences for students.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animation, Visual Effects, or related fields.
Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in the animation/VFX industry or teaching experience in a related academic institution.
Software Proficiency: Expertise in tools such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, Adobe After Effects, Nuke, Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Houdini, etc.
Creativity and Technical Skills: Strong creative storytelling ability with a technical understanding of VFX pipelines, animation principles, and industry practices.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to students of varying levels.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing your expertise in animation and VFX.
Passion for Teaching: Enthusiasm for mentoring and inspiring students in the field of animation and VFX.
Preferred:
Experience in a specialized field such as character animation, 3D modeling, simulation, or motion capture.
Previous teaching experience in a university or academic institution.
Familiarity with emerging technologies such as virtual production, AR/VR, and real-time rendering engines like Unreal Engine.
